Room for a boat. That was one of the reasons why Nancy and Peter Alevivos chose to move to their new home in Admirals Cove four years ago.

“We wanted to live on deep water,” Nancy said. “We had been living in Tequesta on the Loxahatchee River, but it was shallow at low tide.”

Now they are able to keep their boat at their dock at home.

The house has met other needs, too, she said. “We wanted to be closer to our children’s schools and shopping, and my husband wanted to play more golf.”

Now, though, their youngest child will soon go off to college, so the Alevivos family plans to downsize, but, adds Nancy, she and her husband will stay in the neighborhood.

“We really like it. The amenities are fantastic – golf, tennis and entertaining events. And if you don’t feel like cooking, you just jump in the golf cart and go to the club.”

Their large home, built by Palm Beach architect Gene Pandula in 2002,  is aesthetically pleasing, Nancy said. “It’s beautiful. The finishes, millwork and beamed ceiling are incredible. We loved the space and we loved the architecture.”

With 8,744-total-square-feet, it comprises six bedrooms, five bathrooms, one half-bath and a three-car garage. A guest suite with a private entry includes a kitchenette.

Nancy and Peter have also done some renovating in the years they’ve lived here. “We took the downstairs master, and we split the upstairs master into two rooms so that we could create a media room out of the extra space.

“We pulled up carpeting and put in Brazilian walnut flooring.  We updated the powder room and we painted inside and out.”

The home has very pretty interiors decorated by Margi Vorder Bruegge. The grand entry foyer, with a striking double staircase, leads to a formal gallery which separates the living spaces from the master suite. All rooms in the rear of the home offer waterfront views and overlook the beautiful pool, spa, private dock, and expansive outdoor entertainment area.

A chef’s kitchen features Thermador and Bosch commercial-grade appliances. The butler’s area services a casual breakfast area and a 15-by-20 foot formal dining room, large enough to  offer several entertaining options.

Additional features include a heated pool and spa with a salt-water filter system, 100 feet of water frontage with a dock and two boat lifts, an elevator, impact windows and doors, a master suite downstairs with another master suite upstairs and a media/den.

The home, priced at $3.895 million, is offered for sale through Fite Shavell & Associates. For information call  Carla Christenson at 561-307-9966 or Heather Bretzlaff at 561-722-6136.
